Florence R. Damuth

Florence R. Damuth, 75, of Red Lion, PA, died on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Well Span York Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Florence was the wife of Barry W. Damuth with whom she celebrated 17 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late H. Smith and Philomena Belardo. Florence grew up in Bordentown, New Jersey, before moving to Lancaster, PA in 1976 and then resided in Red Lion, PA for the last 17 years. She and her husband met each other through the cruising industry, working at Cruise.com and then began their own company, “Cruise Planners.” She loved assisting others as a consultant with their cruise plans. At one time she was a school bus driver for Shultz Transportation. She and her family loved taking road trips, enjoyed cruise vacations and quality time at the beach. Her family meant everything to her and she took care of everyone; always smiling; never complaining. She will be remembered as kind, considerate, and generous. During her lifetime, she enjoyed playing cards, cooking, wine, and dancing; having an opportunity to appear on American Bandstand. She will be missed by her family and friends, but most of all her daily time with her beloved grandson, Tyler. She truly loved life and was a true lady at heart. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Roxanne M., wife of Michael S. Book, Lancaster, PA and her son, Larry Steele, Jr., also of Lancaster; a sister, Joyce, wife of Dan Giquinto, Sarasota, FL; and her grandson, Tyler M. Book. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Cariola, and her first husband, Larry N. Steele. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service at The Groff Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA (corner of W. Orange & Pine Sts.) on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends at The Groffs from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
