Gloria Mae Musser

Gloria Mae Musser, 95 of York, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 4, 2016 of natural causes. The Funeral Service will be held at 6:00pm on January 22, 2016 at Shiloh American Legion Post 791 on 1490 Poplars Road in York. Visitation will be held from 5-6:00pm prior to the Celebration of Life Service at the same location. Burial will be private for immediate family members and a wake will be held following the service. Gloria was born in Fort Wayne, Indianna on October 14, 1920. Gloria was married to Franklin Etter Musser on April 25, 1942 and they were married for 65 years prior to his death in 2008. Gloria worked in the food service industry for over 40 years including Leonna’s Luncheonette, Earl Bury Restaurant, and retiring from Servomation at Caterpillar Incorporated. She loved spending time with family more than anything, especially Sunday dinners which were a weekly event. She was an excellent chef and delighted sharing with strangers and family alike. She enjoyed her music until the very end, dancing and singing in her hospital bed. A self taught musician, she learned to play the piano and harmonica without lessons. She could be seen dancing and singing in her living room anytime of the day in her younger years to her favorites of Elvis Presley and Englebert Humperdinck. Contributions to the world are not measured by money, but the impact of your life on others. Gloria was most generous with her love to not only family, but to those she met for the first time. If you ever needed to smile, she would most definitely deliver before you left her presence. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Sandra Miller; brother, Alfred Smead; sister, Emma Linosy; grandchildren, Robert Knaub, Julie Leas, Karen Hegi-Miller, Scott Miller and many loving great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents John and Alice Smead; her brothers, Johnny, Paul; her sisters, Katie, Jeanette, and Freda; and a daughter, Sharon Knaub.
