Richard E. Williams

Richard E. Williams, 82, of Lancaster passed into his eternal life on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Florin, PA the son of the late John H. and Thelma Helm Williams and was the husband of Barbara Stumpf Williams for the past 59 years. Dick was formerly employed by Armstrong World Industries as a Production Supervisor for 35 years until his retirement in 1994. He was currently employed for the past 20 years at the Manheim Auto Auction. He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict attaining the rank of Corporal. Dick was a member of the Lancaster Lions Club, the Lititz Sportsman’s Association, the Lexington Rod & Gun Club, and an avid Penn State and Manheim Barons football teams fan and supporter. In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by a daughter Rebecca Williams of Lancaster and her children Jaime, wife of Kelvin Simmons and their son, Landon; and Brandon Williams and his daughter Melody. A daughter Wendy wife of David Meaney of Lancaster and their children Jessica Hooper and her children Kaine and Shelby, Heather Meaney wife of Sean Overby and her daughter Rachel, and Erin married to Brian Leale and their children Kyle, Lillian, Anthony and Sophia. Dick was also predeceased by a son Keith H. Williams who died in 2007. His children are Christopher G. married to Carrie Williams and their daughter Isabella; Philip D. Williams and his children Nathan, Ciera, and Tristan; and Melissa L. married to Chris St. Germain. Also surviving are two brothers; Theodore D. married to Doris Williams of Manheim, Ronald E. married to Nancy Williams of Mt. Joy and a sister Patricia married to John Musser of Elizabethtown. He was predeceased by his brothers John, Amer, and Robert Williams and sisters Gladys Judd, Doris Wegman, and Peggy Williams. A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Four Seasons Banquet Facility, 949 Church Street, Landisville, PA. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions in Dick’s name be made to the Lancaster Lions Club, c/o Lewis K.
