Sara L. Bodolus

Sara L. Bodolus, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 96 years old. Born in Pottstown, PA, Sara was the daughter of Louie Golfee and Jennie (Guest) Golfee. A proud native of Pottstown, she grew up there and later raised her own family in the same close-knit community. Sara was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Theodore “Ted” Bodolus (1983); her cherished daughter, Sandra (2004); her parents, Louie and Jennie; her brothers Peter “Sonny” and Leon; and her sister, Geraldine. She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Ronald, and his wife, Kathy; Ronald’s daughter, Tami; granddaughter Brenda, and her husband, Eric; grandson, Ted; great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Kristen; Kaylee’s husband, Chris; and great-great-grandson, Kalen. She also leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. A hardworking and enterprising woman, Sara held various roles throughout her life. She worked at Mrs. Smith’s Pies and Philco, served as an administrative assistant in both Pottstown and Independence, Missouri, and was the proud owner of a Merle Norman cosmetics studio. Her entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, and attention to detail were matched only by her deep love for her family and community. Following the passing of her husband, Sara moved to the Kansas City area to be closer to her daughter, Sandra, son-in-law, and grandchildren. There, she became an active member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, finding comfort and connection through her faith. In 1996, she relocated once more—this time to Arizona—where she spent the rest of her years surrounded by family. Though she embraced her new home, her heart always remained in Pottstown. Sara found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking for her family—her signature chicken pot pie, made with giant homemade noodles, was a beloved favorite. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo and was an avid reader of mystery novels. Above all, she was a passionate football fan. A devoted supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles, she rarely missed a game, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. Sara will be remembered for her strength, resilience, and the love she so generously shared with those around her. Sara’s memory will be honored at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 701 Farmington Avenue, Pottstown, PA 19464 on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband. A reception will follow to celebrate her life.
