Sarah C. Rudisill Martin

Sarah Catharine “Sally” (Rudisill) Martin, 91, of Lancaster died on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Hamilton Arms Center in Lancaster. Born in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Mary B. (Little) Rudisill and the wife of the late Eugene Hollinger Martin. An active volunteer, Sally was past president of the Lancaster General Hospital Auxiliary; former Board Member of the Women’s Symphony Association and past Chairman of Youth Concerts; former Board Member and past Chairman of the Hostess of Rockford Foundation. A member of Highland Presbyterian Church, Sally was a former Sunday School Teacher. As a member of the Daughter’s of the American Colonists, she was past Regent of the Conestoga Manor Chapter, Honorary State Regent of the Pennsylvania Society of the Daughter’s of American Colonists, a member of The French Huguenot Society and a member of The Daughter’s of The Colonial Wars. Sally is survived by a daughter, Sarah “Susie” C., wife of James Farrell, Malvern, PA; and two sons, James H., husband of Deborah (Murray) Martin, Lancaster, and John E. Martin, Keswick, VA. Also surviving are nine Grandchildren; ten Great Grandchildren; and a brother, William L. Rudisill, Haverford, PA. She was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara (Rudisill) Lease and Mary Anne (Rudisill) Graybill; and a brother, Henry Rudisill. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sally’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 West Orange Street, Lancaster, at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. Roger Rabey officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Private interment will be in the Landis Valley Mennonite Cemetery. Sally’s family would like to send a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff at Hamilton Arms and to Hospice of Lancaster County for the wonderful care given to our mother.
