Benjamin Carson Stover III

Benjamin Carson Stover III, 35, of Lancaster, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Benjamin Carson Stover, Jr., and the late Donna Louise Groff. Benny attended J.P McCaskey High School. He was hardworking and passionate about his occupations both as an Arborist and as a Concrete Finisher. A sponge for knowledge, he soaked up everything he could through reading. He enjoyed various genres spanning from philosophy, horror, and history to the Bible. He had a steel trap of a memory. Benny was a talented guitar player and loved writing music. A true outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed camping and fishing. Benny was a great listener and always gave fantastic advice. He was supportive and loving, willing to lend a listening ear to anyone who needed it. He adored his niece and his nephews. A quote Benny’s family lovingly remembers him saying is “On my death bed, it will be the love that I have gained and given that I will take with me, the only thing that matters.” Benny is survived by his father, Benjamin Carson Stover, Jr., his sister Amanda M. Stover, his brother Joshua J. Stover, his nephew William, niece Kendra, and nephew Devin, all of Lancaster. He is also survived by his grandmother Janie Kreider, who treated Benny, affectionately known as ‘Doo” like her own son. He is preceded in death by his mother, Donna Louise Groff. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Benny on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at The Groff Family Funeral Home, 528 West Orange St. Lancaster, PA 17603.
