Elizabeth "Liz" Scott Hellman

Elizabeth “Liz” Scott Hellman, 86, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Magnolias of Lancaster. Born in Baltimore, MD, Liz was the daughter of the late Lester Scott and Virginia Shanack. Liz led a full and loving life. She raised four marginally well-behaved children that were blessed to call her mother. She lived in many places including New York, Maryland, Virginia and Texas. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for C. Lloyd Johnson, and throughout her working life, she lived with and helped raise most of her grandchildren. Liz loved traveling with her sons, and she never missed a holiday when thinking of her grandchildren. She relished learning and took college courses throughout her life. Liz was a pet lover and preferred her cats. She enjoyed knitting, reading and was an avid walker. She loved music, especially Easy listening. Elizabeth is survived by three of her sons, Eric G. (Terri) Hellman, Lancaster, PA, Thomas Scott (Jennifer) Hellman, Reedsville, PA, and Lance M. (Melisa) Hellman, Henderson, NV, grandchildren: Barry Hellmann III, Joel Hellman, Abigail Hellman, Leah hellman, Alyssa Freeberg, Thomas Scott, Jr., Zoe Solovey, and Anna Hellman, great-grandchildren: Barry IV, Kinsley, Aiden, and Annabell, and sister, Annitea Mann. Her eldest son, Dr. Barry H. Hellman Jr., (Cynthia), Newport News, VA. passed in December of 2019 and was waiting to welcome her to the other side of the veil. The family will join in the Summer of 2022, to memorialize their dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. It will be at this gathering that they will scatter her remains to the wind.
