Irene Estela Marte Rodríguez was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic on June 26, 1930. God called her to her eternal residence on December 14, 2020. She was a strong woman who fought her way through anything, yet was full of compassion towards those in need and had a strong faith in God. Estela lived in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic while her children were young. She lived a simple life, taking care of her children when they needed care. In 1972, her children, Alix, Omar, and Emmanuel Sable, solicited visa through the US Consulate in DR, so she immigrated to New York with her twelve-year-old daughter, Angela, and lived with her sons. While living in NY, she enjoyed walking around in the neighborhoods, establishing friendships with neighbors, and traveling to the doctor. Estela found it difficult to adjust to her new life in NY, so she frequently traveled back to Santo Domingo, DR, until after a few years she finally decided to stay in the US. She remained living in NY and then lived in Connecticut. Being the youngest of seven siblings, Estela survived them all. Her youngest son, Enmanuel Sable, preceded her in his death. Estela was survived by her children Alix Sable, (and his wife Arelis), Omar Sable, Milagros Marte, Angela Marte, 32 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, who will always miss her. We appreciate your presence during this time, your notes of condolences and support. We are deeply grateful to our Lord for having given us a mother like her, for she taught us to trust and depend on God. Personally, I, Alix Sable, am grateful for my beloved wife for her support and for persevering by my side to make it possible to fulfill the last wish of my dear Mother, that her remains be buried near her “preferred son, Alix Sable, and his family”. We would like to express our gratitude to the grandchildren: Priscila Sable, Andrew Sable, Rosa Fernandez, Cristina Emiliano, Yadira Sable, Michael Sable, Michelle Sable, Yadira Sable, Mary Aibar, Irven James, and her other grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends for their demonstration of love, care, prayers, and support for Estela while she was in a hospital or in a nursing home for many years. We also want to thank all those who have sacrificed and traveled from far to support us and to Milagros Marte, Estela’s older daughter, for taking the risk during this COVIC 19 pandemic, and traveling by airplane from the Dom. Rep. to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to say goodbye to her mother, Irene Estela Marte Rodríguez. We ask God to give us strength, peace and consolation for her departure, and since Estela accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior many years ago, we believe, as the Scriptures tell us that today she is in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. May God continue to bless you all and keep safe. May her soul rest in peace. Irene Estela Marte Rodríguez nació en la Vega, Republica Dominicana el 26 de Junio 1930. Dios la llamo a su residencia eterna el 14 de Diciembre 2020. Fue una mujer luchadora y compasiva con los necesitados, con una fe fuerte en Dios. Ella vivió en Santo Domingo, Rep. Dom. mientras sus hijos eran pequeños. Ella vivió una vida sencilla, y cuido a sus hijos cuando ellos necesitaban cuidado. En 1972, por petición de sus hijos, Alix, Omar, y Enmanuel Sable, Estela inmigro a NY con su hija de doce años, Angela. Ellas vinieron a vivir con sus hijos. A ella le gustaba caminar por los vecindarios, hacer amistades con los vecinos y viajar a Sto. Dgo. Para Estela fue muy difícil adaptarse a su vida nueva en Nueva York, y con frecuencia viajaba de regreso a Sto. Dgo. hasta que después de algunos años decidió quedarse en NY. Ella vivió en NY y despues en CT. Siendo ella la menor de siete hermanos, Estela sobrevivió a todos ellos. Su hijo menor, Enmanuel Sable, la precedió en su muerte. Los que sobreviven a Estela son sus hijos Alix Sable, (y su esposa Arelis), Omar Sable, Milagros Marte, Ángela Marte, 32 nietos, 22 bis-nietos, y 2 tataranietos, quienes la extrañaran siempre. Agradecemos su presencia durante este tiempo, sus notas de condolencias y apoyo. Estamos profundamente agradecidos del Señor por habernos dado una madre como ella, pues nos enseno a confiar y depender en Dios. De parte mio, quisiera decir que yo, Alix Sable, agradezco mi amada esposa por su apoyo y por perseverar a mi lado para hacer posible que se cumpla el último deseo de mi querida Madre de que sus restos fueran sepultados cerca de nosotros “su hijo preferido, Alix Sable, y su familia”. Quisiéramos expresar nuestros agradecimientos. Primeramente a los nietos: Priscila Sable, Andrew Sable, Rosa Fernández, Cristina Emiliano, Yadira Sable, Michael Sable, Michelle Sable, Maribel Aibar, Irven James y los demas nietos, sobrinos, sobrinas y amigos por su demostración de amor, cuidado, oraciónes, y apoyo con Estela mientras ella estaba en un hospital o en un hogar de ancianos por muchos años. También agradecemos a todos los que han hecho sacrificios de viajar lejos para compartir con la familia, a su hija Milagros por arriesgarse durante esta pandemia del COVIC 19, y viajar por avión desde la Rep. Dom. hacia Lancaster, Pennsylvania para darle el último adiós a su madre, Irene Estela Marte Rodríguez. A Rosa y Roger por viajar de Nueva York los demas que han venido de lejos. Le pedimos a Dios que nos de paz y consolación por su partida, ya que Mama una vez acepto a Cristo como su Salvador, por eso sabemos, según nos dicen las Escrituras que hoy ella está en el cielo con el Señor Jesucristo. Que Dios nuestro Señor les bendiga y les mantenga sanos. Que su Alma descanse en Paz
