Lou Ann Himelwright

Lou Ann Himelwright, 62, of Manheim, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Warren L. and Pearl C. (McGee) Taylor. She was married to her beloved husband, Gary R. Himelwright, for 13 years. Lou Ann graduated from Hempfield High School in 1978. She worked as a certified nurse’s aide at Willow Valley for many years, and as a barista at Seattle’s Best Coffee at Park City Mall. Lou Ann attended Trinity United Church of Christ. She enjoyed doll collecting, shopping, watching the Eagles, and taking trips to the beach. She loved her pets. In addition to her husband, Lou Ann is survived by her stepson, Ronald J. Himelwright, sisters, Diana J. Schornack (John), and Susan M. Shellenberger (Duane), brother, Michael D. Taylor, niece, Candi L. Langat (Patrick), nephews, J.R L. Shellenberger (Jennifer), and Matthew P. Shellenberger. She was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine E. Viosin. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17603, with the Rev. Dr. Christopher M. Rankin officiating. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA Lancaster Center, the Humane League of Lancaster County, or the American Diabetes Association.
