Barbara D. Witmer

Witmer, Barbara D. (Sasso) (nee Cesareo), 84 of Maywood, NJ went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 25, 2016. She was born in Teaneck, graduated from Hasbrouck Heights H S and lived in north Jersey most of her life (Hasbouck Hgts, Rochelle Park, Maywood). Before retiring in 1988, Barbara was a main frame computer operator for Mobil Chemical, Paramus. Preceded in death by her parents, Argo and Elsie (Feit) Cesareo and her sister, Dione Donegan. Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Jack E.; daughter, Valerie (Sasso) Murphy of Monroe, NC, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and daughter, Barbara L. (Sasso) Beiswanger of Milwaukee, WI; 3 step-children, Jack M. Witmer, Sherry Horner and Wendy Onda, 4 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grand-children, all living in PA. Also survived by her brother, Argo Cesareo II of Waretown, NJ and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. When Barbara was a child she dreamed of being a ballerina. That passion was fulfilled through roller skating from childhood to age 74. As an adult she skated at live organ sessions in NJ and southern PA with her daughter, Barbara and her husband as her partner. As an active member of His Word Ministries Passion Church, Wanaque, NJ, she was active in women's ministry and involved in their food pantry ministry. She was instrumental in touching many lives. Two items that traveled with her were her bible and her skates, but Jesus was always number one. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Celebrate her Life at Fred F. Groff Inc., 234 W. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA., on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 until the time of service. Graveside services will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Friends may gather at Fred F. Groff Inc. on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until departure for the cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Valley Hospice, 15 Essex Rd., Paramus, NJ 07652 or Passion Church, 593 Ringwood Ave., Wanaque, NJ 07465. Barbara's obituary was lovingly written by her husband Jack.
