Elva June Weaver

Elva June Weaver, 89, of Lancaster, PA, stepped into the presence of the Lord on May 5, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Aaron K. and Florence A. (Mylin) Harnish and the wife of L. James “Jim” Weaver, with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage on July 7, 2025. At the time of her passing, she resided at Trillium Place, 1520 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster. Her husband, Jim, passed away just a few months ago on December 26, 2025. She leaves behind two sons, Steven (Cheryl) of Elizabethtown and Gary (Jeri) of Lancaster, as well as one daughter, Julie (Charles) Covington of Saltillo, Mississippi. Another daughter, Cheryl, preceded her parents in death at the age of 38. In addition, there are seven grandchildren: Grant Weaver and Seth, Zachariah, Erin, Hannah, Lydia, and Abigail Covington; and eight great-grandchildren. Also, surviving her are Elva’s brothers, J. Marlin Harnish and David L. Harnish; she is predeceased by her brother Rodney W. Harnish. Elva was a member of Calvary Church for almost 62 years and a strong supporter of the Church ministry in many activities. She took great pride in leading the two-year-old Sunday School Class, and she and Jim led the College & Career Class for many years, forging many long-term relationships. She also participated in numerous mission trips, as she and Jim were active in the Church’s Cambodian Initiative. Elva was involved for many years in sales and marketing for Brookshire Printing, Inc., a business founded by Jim shortly after their marriage. She also served on the Board for the Pennsylvania Dutch Convention and Visitors Bureau. Elva and Jim enjoyed horses and raised and bred Arabian Horses, and were active in the Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association. She greatly enjoyed travel and sharing time at the shore with her family. Relations and friends are respectfully invited to attend Elva’s Celebration of Life service at the Chapel at Calvary Homes, 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Friday June 19th, at 2:00. Interment will be private at Weaverland Cemetery, East Earl, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Calvary Church Mission Fund or the Calvary Homes Benevolent Fund.
