Nehemiah Talbott

Nehemiah was born at home in Freeland, Maryland on August 22, 1987, to his parents, Mark and Kendra. He was an avid reader at a very young age and was home- schooled until he went to high school at Dayspring Christian Academy where he graduated as co-valedictorian. He loved archery, woodworking, drawing and painting. He was the oldest of five brothers and one sister, whom he helped care for as babies and loved dearly. He and his brother Josiah were in Civil Air Patrol together, friends learning survival skills together. Nehemiah went to York College and University of Miami for his undergraduate studies and then received his Doctorate in Nursing Practice from University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and loved his work. His favorite books and movies were science fiction with ideas that made him think. He loved to help others and was usually the first to volunteer to do or fix something. He loved his family. Unfortunately, in his early thirties he was enduring a high degree of stress and he turned to alcohol to feel better. Over time he developed a problem which became severe. His use caused many losses in his life. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury on November 13, 2024 and almost died. After surgeries and rehab, he returned to function but was not the same. He died at home in Lancaster, PA on Friday, September 11, 2026. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Kendra, and his siblings: Josiah, Baruch, Abraham, Gabriel, Yohanna and Matthias who all loved and cared about him. He had three living grandparents and aunts and uncles, and friends who loved him and a community of people who supported him after his brain injury. If you are reading this and you know someone or you, yourself, have a problem with alcohol, please get help. We lost our son and brother and are heartbroken. We will always love him and remember him at his very best. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W.
