Testimonials

We receive many letters from the families we've served, thanking us for our caring ways during their time of loss. Their words warm our hearts, and speak to you of our professionalism, compassion, and the true value of the services we provide.

Michele DeRosa was wonderful, and she followed up with me three months later to check in and see how we were all doing. I highly recommend the Groff Family Funeral Home as my family has been using them for years.

Spencer, Michele and Hollie are genuine. I never received cookie-cutter responses from them. They were patient and sensitive to my emotions as I attempted to make sense of the information they provided. I appreciated Spencer’s ability to guide and refocus my thoughts compassionately. The layout and décor of the funeral home is perfect. It wasn’t dark and dreary, nor was it so modern where it would feel sterile and unwelcoming. Overall, I give the Groff’s an A+!!

Last week I had the pleasure of working with Groff Funeral & Cremation Services to host a funeral for my father, Rich, who passed away suddenly on March 10. From the moment I contacted Groff, I was treated with kindness, courtesy, respect, and ultimately, love. Lisa Frymyer made it a no brainer for us to choose Groff - I knew that if I would be treated the way Lisa was treating me, I would be thrilled. Tom contacted me to schedule a consultation and he was equally lovely. When we came in the next day we met with Michelle, and my goodness ... from the moment we met Michelle we instantly felt welcomed and at ease. She walked us through all the arrangements, not putting a time limit on us and listening intently to the stories we shared about our father. Michelle made it possible for us to perform one of the most heart wrenching tasks of our lives and turn it into one of the most meaningful and most memorable experiences. Each and every single person we encountered during our experience, in addition to Lisa F. and Michelle, were so unbelievably kind and empathetic to all of us. These wonderful folks included Holly, Jack, David, Toji, Ken, and Lisa, and all went above and beyond to handle our event and treat our guests with the most exceptional level of hospitality. As a person who works in hospitality, this meant the world to me and I was so proud to have our family and friends enjoy this experience with us with Groff's assistance. Our guests could not stop raving at how wonderful they found all the Groff staff to be and noted their attentiveness and care throughout the week. To the entire Groff team, thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for us. I know my father would have loved every single detail, especially the customized Yankee ticket prayer card that you so thoughtfully designed for us without request, as well as the kindness you extended to all of us. On behalf of my family, we thank you and know that we now consider you all family. With all my love, Jenny Mercandetti

I attended the Hinton funeral and I must say it was super nice, the service was very pretty and the place was beautiful. I think this was one of the most nicest memorials I've ever been to. The funeral home wasn't all churchy like but had a museum'ish way about it which made the place feel more inviting, with open, spacious rooms and bright hallways, not like most funeral homes that usually seem kind of dark and dreary.

Lisa Groff worked tirelessly to have the most beautiful services (2) for my Mother. She had so may great ideas our family would have never thought of and suggested The Farm at Eagles Ridge for an outside venue. I cannot think of any recent situation I have had where the customer service and support was any where near what the Groff's team consistently gave us. Not one detail was missed. I will never forget the level of sincerity with which the Groff's team handled my Mother's funeral from start to finish. What an incredible company.

Lisa Groff and Tom Buter are wonderful to work with. My husband’s funeral was very large – there were over 600 in attendance. Lisa Groff made all of the arrangements to accommodate the guests and it was lovely from start to finish.

We were grateful for the compassion shown to our family. The care and respect shown for the deceased family member, the grief resources and other follow-up communications from the Groff’s were outstanding. From the start, Dave Groff was the utmost professional in our time of need. My dads passing, though somewhat expected, was extremely difficult. Dave's compassion towards all of us, and especially my mom was incredible. He made it a point to ask how she was doing anytime we spoke. He answered all of our questions even after hours. Every interaction with any member of their staff was pleasurable, no matter what. My entire family would highly recommend Groff Funeral & Cremation Services for any end of life needs.

I do not believe there are words that can express the appreciation for the hospitality, professionalism, caring, understanding, and attention to detail that Michelle provided during my family's very hard time. Michelle made sure to include and enhance each member of the family in celebrating our Maw Maw. Michelle is a very special person and definitely knows her craft. The home itself is stunning but without the personal touch of Michelle, it would have just been a home. Thank you so much I'm sure you value Michelle as much as our family does.

First of all I never thought I would be writing a review for a funeral home however I lost my daughter very sudden. Dave handled everything for me and my family. He and the staff are the reason why I would refer them to anyone who needed their services. They blended in with our guests and you could tell they genuinely care and want to help make everything seamless. They were very caring and respectful. They responded quickly with any questions you may have about any and all aspects of the funeral preparations. Dave was the most kind and caring man. I have planned other services with a different Funeral Home and didn't get the excellent service that Groff's provided.

This past Saturday (November 19, 2016) my wife and I attended the memorial service for my Dad, This service as well as his cremation, and burial was coordinated and created by my wife and I, with the professional guidance of our director along with the Groff staff. The Groff Funeral Home handled my Dads funeral, my mom's all my grandparent's and most of my great grandparent's funerals. Some of the things the Director and staff did was notify Social Security of his demise, contact the cemetary to arrange for the burial, assisted in picking out a double urn to hold my father's and mother's ashes since her death (January, 1999) so my Dad could have his wish of having their ashes mixed together after his demise (November 27, 2016.) for burial. In addition, the director arranged the delivery of the flowers we chose, wrote the obituary for my Mother and Dad; prepare their community room by arranging pictures of Dad and the family throughout the room and, contacted the local veterans office to arrange for an American Flag to be presented to family and the small stipend the U.S Army provides to the family as thank you for a soldiers service, and to offset funeral expenses. In actuality, all my wife and I needed to do was, with the assistance of the Groff director, was to pick the flowers, select some pictures, select the minister (whom, by the way prepared and delivered a beautiful memorial for Dad), and help us to pick a double urn that I wish we had a picture to show you, which left us to concentrate with the many of Dad's estate matters. In addition he contacted the caretaker at the cemetary, and direct us yo a number of monument companies. In closing, I want to thank our director (choose Scott as your director if he is available to you,, if you want attentive listening, a trained Professional who pays attention to all your desires and wishes, knows exactly how a funeral and/or a Memorial Service needs to be professionally done.), I also wish to thank, on behalf of the family and all of the attendees, the entire Groff Staff for their personal and professional assistance. I do believe that of the 100+ funerals and memorial services I have attended, the Groff Home was the most beautiful and accommodating for such services, and the employees equally as pleasing and willing to go out of their way to complement their services. K.L.M.
